Where else can you start a business that doesn’t require a fortune? What other types of businesses can you make money from that reaches across the globe without you having to change out of your pajamas at all? What other types of businesses allow you to make money online even if you didn’t have a single product or service to sell or promote?
None. That’s the answer.
The beauty of an online business is that you can start an online business anywhere, anytime with very little startup capital. In fact, some opportunities will even allow you to make money online without having to come up with a single cent at all! For instance, making money online through affiliate programs or selling products through a dropshipper at online auction sites. You can even make money online writing your own books or information products and selling them online. There’s lots of money to be made online! That’s precisely why many people quit their day jobs and start their own online businesses and make a very nice income working from the comfort of their homes.
It’s not all hype, for sure, because thousands and thousands of people are making an income online (if not a fortune), why not you? Why not your next door neighbor? Why not your sister? Anyone can make money online.
However, there’s a need to debunk all the hype and miraculous opportunities that many people try to lead vulnerable people to believe. Like, have you ever seen ads that go something like this:
MAKE MONEY EFFORTLESSLY FROM YOUR HOME AND EARN $108,238 IN 3 DAYS! HERE, DON”T MISS OUT…
As an Internet Marketer, it’s my job to tell you that it’s hard for anyone to make that kind of money in 3 days. There are exceptions to that rule, I know several internet marketing gurus who have made more than that in 24 hours, but that kind of success didn’t happen overnight most of the people in this caliber have been working online for years and years to get to this point. The truth is that YES, you can make money online and you can even get insanely rich! But it takes time. It takes effort. It takes patience. It takes perseverance. In actual fact, I can tell you from personal experience that it’s not very different from any other types of ‘conventional’ businesses. There’s no miracle formula and there’s no magic wand to wave. However, just like with anything in life, you’ll probably have to work very hard at your business before you start to make money online.
With that said, I will now tell you that it is POSSIBLE to make money online…..very possible and once you learn the ropes, you can duplicate that system and make more and more money online quite effortlessly and easily. With the kind of information and resources available online, to make money from an online business is not only possible, it’s almost a sure thing as long as you pick a legitimate opportunity and stick with it.
You won’t be rolling in money in three days but you can and will make money online from your online business if you are prepared to learn, to work at the business and be persistent and bull-headed about the success of your online business!
I say GO FOR IT!

How and Why to RSS
RSS feeds and blogs (and blog and pinging) are part of the latest hyper-frenzy in internet marketing. Tools and services are mushrooming all over. But there seem to be some rather distorted ideas about all this.
Unless you want to get into the technical stuff, exactly what an RSS feed is doesn't really matter. Now I care because I use them for a lot of things, work with code and do geeky tech stuff. But from a marketing perspective the underlying technical structure is only relevant because it clues us in on what to use an RSS feed for. And that's the thing you have to understand.
An RSS marketing feed is not about the feed's content in most cases. Feeds that carry large quantities of content are usually referred to as data feeds and that's not what people are going to put in their RSS aggregators. A basic RSS feed consists of a varied number of items with title, a link to the full content source and a short extract or description from the full source. There's more but that's the basics.
If you subscribe (by email) to something like the daily New York Times headlines, think about what a typical item looks like:
++++ Big deal thing happens somewhere
++++ By A Writer
++++ Once again an astonishing big deal thing has happened...
++++ Read Full Article: URL-link-to-news-story
Title and author - short description - link to full content
Just like an RSS feed item.
What should be obvious from this example is that RSS feeds are about change. New content. Updated information. They are not about static content.
The group you want to reach, people who surf via RSS, are looking for an efficient, fast way to identify new content that they are interested in. So if you're going to do an RSS feed, you need it to link to and report on new and updated content.
There are lots of tools available that will let you create your own feeds, manually or with varying degrees of automation. One of the most popular means is by blogging. You really don't need any technical knowledge at all to set up a blog and produce a feed.
You can use a blog just as a feed generator. Basically this is what blog and ping software and services are doing. That kind of feed is not for people, it's for the search engines. It's a way to alert the SEs that a new site with un-indexed pages exists. Blogs used that way are not what I'm talking about here.
You can create a blog about anything. What's important is that new content is added regularly. There are many ways to add valuable content to a blog. You needn't be a brilliant writer, many don't require much or any writing.
The best way to check this out for yourself is to blog-surf. No matter what kind of site you have - or what kind of product you want to promote - there's always a way to write about it, find new information, check and report on similar or related products and sites, report on industry news, provide your own opinions and ideas.
As most people quickly discover, it's far easier than it sounds at first.
Your blog will produce at least one RSS type feed. Blogger produces just an atom feed, WordPress and other blog software normally produce one or 2 types of RSS feeds and an atom feed. Services like feedburner.com can allow you to "burn" your feed and then promote a single burned url which will provide any kind of feed a user wants.
Now that you have content and an RSS/atom feed that links to that content, your next step is to publicize your feed. You have two different main avenues since your blog has real content.
First you can add your feed to RSS search engines and RSS directories.
And second, because your blog has that real content and isn't just an RSS feed generator, you can add your blog to blog search engines and blog directories. You could even use blog traffic exchanges like BlogExplosion.
This is a simple, low - or basically zero - cost, yet highly effective way to get new traffic from at least two sources.
First from your RSS feed. Feeds are an increasingly popular way to save time, search and surf. If your content is valuable and interesting people will subscribe to your feed and click thru to those full articles or posts that interest them -- targeted traffic from a group that is relatively affluent and tech savvy.
Second, blogs are extremely popular. A good blog will get linked, reported, commented on, other blogs may pick up your feed and report items from it. All of this exposure can bring valuable free traffic.
And finally, as an extra good thing, search engines like blogs because of the regularly updated content - they are nuts about fresh content - and the easily spidered structure blogs use. So as your blog pages get indexed in the SEs, you can also get direct search engine traffic.

5 Surefire Basic Methods to use in Promoting Your Blog
Okay! Your research is solid and you’ve created strategies for presenting the contents in your blog. You’ve identified your audience and have created hooks for appealing to them.
You are definitely ready to go blogging!
First, you’ll need to know and understand what kind of software a blogging uses, to be effective in promoting the blog.
Blogging software is simple Content Management System (CMS). This makes it easy for you to add new pages and have them easily integrated into your site's navigational structure and linkage.
Although there are crucial differences between a website and a blog, but they possess one very good quality. They are search engine friendly; ergo both use a good sized dose of keyword phrases. Blogs are also text-rich, link-rich, frequently updated web pages which utilize CSS, and need very little HTML.
Prior to writing your blog, go to websites to get a supply of at least 100 keywords relevant to your topic, try the Word Tracker website.
When writing, keep these 100 keywords close at hand, so that you’ll write the primary keyword into your blog urls. Use your primary key words in your title, the secondary keywords in the body of your posts, and in the anchor text of links in the body of your post.
Now that you’ve done the preliminaries such as picking your 100 keywords, and know how to slip them into your blog posts, these are the next steps you’ll need to take:
1.Build links to your blog, do this by the following ways. Link your blog from each page on your website, post comments on other blogs that are similarly themed. Ask if you can link to them.
2.Submit your blog and RSS feed to big directories. This will expand your community of readers and keep old ones coming back for more.
3.Make sure that your side navigation bar is present on all your blog posts, so that search engines can easily spider your blog.
4.Frequently post blogs. Search engine spiders strive on fresh content.
5.Stay with the domain you’ve picked. If you move, you’ll lose important data; traffic and worse, your position in the search engine rankings.
Use these basics to get started. You’ll get to the top in a short time. Make posting new content on your blog a habit and you’ll stay there.
I have been able to get to the top positions for important keyword phrases simply by naming my blog post according to the keyword I am targeting... so I know that blogging DOES work.

Great Ways To Obtain Link Popularity
hate reciprocal linking.
It is such a hassle. Even specialized reciprocal linking sites don't really help all that much. Many of the link requests that I do get are from poker sites that are totally irrelevant to my site's content. Most of the sites that I would like to link to don't respond. Some sites supposedly do respond, but, when I search their sites, I can't find my link anywhere. It is just so totally and completely frustrating.
Link popularity is a major factor in search engine rankings. How does someone like me, who despises reciprocal linking, go about improving my site's link popularity?
Fortunately for me, I have discovered two ways to do exactly that. They are blogging and submitting articles.
I added the Work At Home Ideas Blog(http://www.affiliateutopia.com/blog/) to my website two weeks ago. Search engines love content and blogs are about the easiest way to add fresh content to your site. But, how can a blog improve your site's link popularity? Most blogs feature their own RSS or XML feed. If a visitor to your blog likes your content, then he just might decide to syndicate your content on his website. In the past two weeks, my blog's XML feed has been hit more than 150 times. I expect to get at least some new links out of that.
Writing articles and submitting them to article directories is another great way to get more links pointing back to your site. You can place your own "resource box"(similar to the one at the bottom of this article) at the bottom of your articles. Your resource box wiil contain a link back to your website. The article directory will publish your article and--BAM-you have an instant link back to your website. Submitting articles is a great way to get your site's popularity going like gangbusters.
Here are some outstanding article directories that you should be submitting to:
IdeaMarketers -- http://www.ideamarketers.com/
EzineArticles -- http://www.ezinearticles.com/
GoArticles -- http://www.goarticles.com/
ISnare -- http://www.isnare.com/
Internet Home Business Articles-- http://www.internethomebusinessarticles.com/
Here is a little tip for your article submissions. Many article directories allow you to enter HTML code in your articles. This gives you the ability to control the anchor text of your site's link in the resource box of your article. The anchor text of your link serve as keywords for the search engines. Use a keyword research tool, such as Good Keywords(http://www.goodkeywords.com/), to vary your anchor text from week to week. By doing this, you will rapidly build up a number of keywords for your site.
By using your blog's RSS or XML feed and submitting articles, you can increase the link poularity of your website without all of the hassles of reciprocal linking.

Making Money on the Internet
I've got my computer hooked up to the Internet, now let the money pour in! What a silly sounding thought, but one that many people take a great deal of stock in these days. It would seem that many, many people have the idea that all they have to do to generate an income from home is to get online, join this, that, or the other thing and PRESTO! Cha-ching!
However, more often than not, these people shut down their computers at night, having spent much more than they have earned. Why...?
This, 'spend more, make none,' syndrome is so very prevelant because people expect something for nothing, and in cyberspace, as in the real world, 0 + 0 = 0. The Internet does not guarantee business success. All it does is provide individuals with the opportunity to start a business with a much lower overhead than in the real world. If you've got no head for a brick and mortar business, chances are that you aren't going to be any more successful building a business online. The reality is that you cannot just join a program, hang out a shingle and expect the money to roll in. And it doesn't matter what program you join, or how many programs you join. Building and maintaining a business is a skill that must be learned.
Most of the gurus of today have been successful off line, prior to experiencing online glory. What they have done is to take their skills from the real world and apply them to the realm of the Internet. Therefore, if you have no off line skills to bring to the Internet, you'd better get some. There's a lot more competition out here.
Another cause for shutting down broke each day is that a great many people spend their time online, joining every program that sounds good. They spend all their money on monthly memberships to every program under the sun, and have nothing left over to actually run the business with.
TIP: When someone calls you asking about your business, you should never have to answer with, "Which one?"
Aside from the scope of retailing informational products, it is best to choose a business, a single company, and work it! It is perfectly fine to have a business portfolio, including a few different interests, but to belong to and pay into everything you can get your hands on is ridiculous. How can you possibly learn everything you should know about each business, and what possible help are you going to be to your associates? There are just not enough hours in the day to make it work. (Unless you have created a clone, in which case, we need to talk.)
For Example:
My own business portfolio resembles this:
TLC Promotions - www.tlcpromotions.net The parent company of all my business interests. My personal brand. The place you can go to find out all about what I do. Established - 2000
The Trii-Zine Ezine - www.ezines1.com The official RSS feed for TLC Promotions. First published - 2001
Lifetimebusiness.com - www.sugarant.lifetimebusiness.com The Internet marketing team that I promote Melaleuca with. This is my main home based business operation, the one that pays the bills... Promoted by TLC Promotions and The Trii-Zine Ezine. Established - 2001
AdsOnQ - www.ads-on-q.com The Internet's first syndicated advertising agency, which I co-created with several other brilliant people. Established - 2004
Quikonnex.com - www.quikonnex.com/193 The backbone (RSS feed source) of both the Trii-Zine Ezine and AdsOnQ. My perferred communications system.
Each business interest in my portfolio compliments all of the others in some way. This allows me to maintain a handle on all of them in a fluid fashion. I am an expert in each, and can provide the best support in them all.
If you spread yourself too thin, you are of no assistance to anyone within your businesses, including yourself. All you're doing is running around like a chicken with its head cut off, and the only thing you ever manage to get accomplished is making sure your monthly membership fees are paid on time, complaining that your free advertising isn't bringing you any cash flow.
HELLO!
If this sounds like you, don't beat yourself up about it. (Hey, I was there. I found myself answering, "Which one?" The t-shirt says: Dah!...) Just cut away the deadwood and focus on what you know, or can easily learn. Start cancelling paid memberships to things rather than adding to your debt load. Don't go hacking away with wild abandon though; carefully evaluate everything you've gotten yourself into, and create a protfolio that you can actually work with.
You can make money on the Internet, but you have to be smart about it. Use what you know, learn what you don't and spend your money wisely. Talk to people. Find out what others know, but don't start jumping on bandwagons. Spend the time to research opportunities. You don't have to shutdown broke every day.
Butter spread too thin yields no flavor, only grease.

Multiple Streams of Income
There likely is no one in the English speaking world (and even beyond) that has not heard the age-old phrase:
“Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.”
In the 21st century, with all of the many and varied business opportunities available to an innovative person operating online, the eggs in a basket adage is even more applicable than ever before. The importance of multiple streams of income and of learning how to develop multiple streams of income has never been more important than it is today.
Understanding Multiple Streams of Income
Multiple streams of income is a term that is fairly self explanatory in and of itself. By employing revenue generating techniques based on the concept of multiple streams of income, a person like you develops a number of income generating projects one after the other. The Internet provides a perfect venue through which a person can work to develop a number of different web based businesses or enterprises -- even on a small, starting scale -- that can work to develop continuous and ever increasing cash flow from a variety of different sources for you and your family.
Again, when thinking of multiple streams of income, you should think of the old adage mentioned and the forefront of this article: don’t keep all of your eggs together in the same basket. That way if one market or industry fails you will still have an income coming in from all your other income streams.
Diversify, Diversify, Diversify
There are different types of business ventures that involve various levels of risk. If you only elected to put all of your money into a savings account at the local bank, you would not have a very significant return on your investment over time. Of course, you would have security of an insured deposit. But, as with so many situations in life, when it comes to investing your money and building financial resources for the future, you need to balance the need for security against the necessity of ensuring that you live your life today and on into the future in a solid financial position.
Developing a strategy of utilizing multiple streams of income will allow you to diversify your risks over a number of different business enterprises ventures, including operations in cyberspace on the Net.
From Low to High Risk and Everywhere in Between
Through the process of rational diversification through the utilization of multiple streams of income techniques, you will be able to spread your investments over online based business ventures that have varying degrees of associated risks and payouts. You don’t need all of your streams of income to be spitting out huge amounts of cash, and while that would be nice, it isn’t practical or realistic. More often than not each income stream you set up will only provide you with a marginal but steady influx of cash.
The best way to think of your multiple streams of income is to think of each stream of income as a stream or a creek that feeds into a river, and that river is your total income, whether it be monthly, yearly or whatever. And every new income “stream” you set up, no matter how small it is, flows into your river, and your river continues to grow larger and larger with every new “stream” that feeds it.
That is the power of multiple streams of income.
Conclusion
Using the techniques of multiple streams of income through the establishment of or investing in online business ventures, you can begin laying a foundation for a solid financial future. With so many options available to people interested in online business operations and ventures today, you can develop an interesting network of investment, business and affiliate situations that will ensure overall financial stability for you and your family through multiple streams of income points and practices.

Introduction

The chicken or the egg?” to this discussion, when you are considering entering into the world of online business, you need to take the time to seriously consider Internet marketing strategies. Many experts in the field of Internet advertising and online retailing and service providing agree that if you want to find success in cyberspace, you need to follow a helpful rule. That is, in order to achieve success with an online business, you need to find the market first and then create the product.
While many a student has fretted with frustration over the concepts of supple and demand, a wise Internet operator interested in establishing an online business will understand the market and its demands -- what people want and how many want it -- before he or she dives headlong into business.
Of course, at times, a speculative business venture can succeed. And, by this we mean a business with a new product that prior to the start of the company there has been no noticeable consumer demand. But, in such instances, a business owner -- online or in the brick and mortar world -- will typically have to invest a significant amount of money explaining to the consumer why he or she wants or needs this new product.
You are better served when starting a new online venture to do your homework. Find out what the needs of the market are and how and if they currently are being met.
One of the largest benefits of researching the target market before creating the product, is you can find out if people are even interested in what you plan to offer. This can save you from spending large amounts of money and time developing a product that nobody wants.
As alluded to previously, before venturing off towards establishing an online business or launching a new product, take the time to find out the demands of the market. In this regard, you will really need to undertake two courses of action.
First, find out what types of products or services are in demand in this day and age through the Internet.
Second, find out how these demands presently are being met by current online businesses.
When you establish this information, you will be able to see what niche you might productively fit into on the World Wide Web and whether or not you should go ahead with the development of your product.
Remember this: more products will be scrapped that will ever be successfully produced and sold.
